Black and WhiteArtist's Proof
This plate was created in 1998. It is a scene in Camden, Maine on a street we once lived - Chestnut Street - and we would often take leisurley walks to town in the shade of tall chestnut and maple trees.
This was the first of the 7"x7" series of four seasons images I completed between 1998 and 2000. The entire edition was never completed for any of the four. My printer moved his studio from one town to another and all four plates were lost in transit. I came across this etching in one of my portfolios recently. It's one of the first prints taken after the aquatint was done and burnished to satisfaction. Somehow I missed coloring this one and I like it as a black and white print also.
