This image depicts my favorite time of autumn when green leaves of summer have turned to brilliant shades of red and gold. Some leaves remain on branches to show off beautifully against the blue sky; yet enough leaves have fallen to the ground, to create a colorful carpet to walk across. With each step, dry leaves crackle beneath your feet and there is a soft rustling sound as the wind swirls through them. In this scene, hydrangeas have turned dusky violet and cream—though past their prime, still beautiful. Three squirrels in the foreground, hunt for nuts and seeds. Pumpkins come to mind whenever I think of autumn, and here they are, piled high in the antique truck ready to take to market.
