Limited Edition Original Print and Watercolor by Carol Collette Signed and Numbered Etching The languid, lazy summer sun brings to me a reverie of relaxation and reminiscences of days gone by. The beginning of summer was the most joyous time of year because it meant no school, warm weather, and plenty of free time to do whatever I pleased. I remember playing games with my childhood friends on those long summer days, and though they are much older now, my memories keep each of them forever young. When alone, I would often sketch, experimenting with how to depict the patterns of shadows cast by the strong summer sun. Shadow shows you a thing, without being it, as a mirror do. The mirrored images in the windows and the distinct shadows cast on the carpet of green grass were my primary inspirations for this image of a quiet lane in Round Pond, Maine. |
