Catalog Proof
Plate Size: 4" x 6"
Printed on BFK etching paper with border approx 1.25" - 1.5" all aroundThis line etching of Motif #1 in Rockport, MA is the first etching I did when John and I decided to begin our etching careers in 1969. We worked for a while at the Impressions Workshop in Boston, in October of that year and after doing one etching each, decided to work at our home studio without acid. We bought a small press and did worked exclusively on drypoint etchings. It was a year or two later we returned to etching with acid.
This print has "Catalog Proof" written in the lower left just below the plate mark, titled "The Wharf" and signed. I don't remember offering this print for sale until until years later and the signature looks to be about the way I signed work in the early to mid 1970's.
